SMS OPT-IN & MESSAGING POLICY

The Rusty Ratchet – DIY Bay Rentals & Full-Service Auto Repair sends text messages to customers who have agreed to receive them.

How We Collect Consent

Customers opt in by providing their mobile phone number and selecting an optional SMS consent checkbox on our customer intake form, either on paper or electronically.

The consent option identifies The Rusty Ratchet, explains the types of messages customers can receive, and discloses that message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. It also provides STOP and HELP instructions and access to our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

SMS consent checkboxes are not preselected. Providing a phone number alone does not enroll a customer in text messaging.

How We Record Consent

We retain the completed consent form with the customer’s record. Our records identify the customer’s mobile phone number, the date consent was provided, how consent was collected, and the wording the customer agreed to.

We also record opt-out requests so that customers who withdraw consent are removed from the applicable messaging program.

Types of Messages

Customers who consent to service-related text messages may receive:

• Appointment confirmations and reminders
• Estimate notifications
• Repair authorization requests
• Questions about their vehicle or service
• Vehicle repair status updates
• Repair completion and pickup notifications
• Customer-support messages

Promotional Messages

Promotional texts, special offers, and marketing messages require a separate, optional consent selection. Consent to service-related messages does not automatically enroll customers in promotional messaging.

Consent to receive promotional text messages is not a condition of purchasing goods or services.

Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency varies based on appointments, repair activity, and customer interactions.

Message and data rates may apply.

How to Opt Out

Reply STOP to any text message to unsubscribe. After opting out, you may receive one confirmation message. No further messages will be sent through that messaging program unless you opt in again.

Privacy and Mobile Information

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

We may use communications providers to deliver messages on our behalf. These providers may use this information only to provide services to The Rusty Ratchet.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
